Statement from Capitol Hill Healthcare on confirmed COVID-19 cases

Montgomery, Ala. — In late March, Capitol Hill Healthcare learned that one of our residents tested positive for COVID-19 while at a local hospital. After learning of this diagnosis, we implemented additional safety precautions for our residents and staff.

Out of caution for our other residents and staff, we sought testing for residents that may have been exposed. Consequently, four residents tested positive. Those affected individuals are in isolation and receiving the best possible medical care. Our thoughts are with them and their loved ones at this time and we hope for their complete recovery.

We have notified the Alabama Department of Public Health as well as our residents, families and staff. Our team of dedicated health care professionals continues to work closely with local and state health officials for guidance on the eradication of COVID-19 in our facility. Per guidance from the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Capitol Hill has initiated recommended preventive interventions.

We are grateful for the support of our community and Capitol Hill families at this time. We are also thankful for the sacrifices our staff makes every day to serve the residents entrusted to our care.
